Cahors B763 is the great Cahors cuvée produced by the Mas del Périé wine estate. It replaces the cuvée Pièce , which was its former name. It's a wine made from the finest plots on the wine estate, and indeed in the entire appellation. The terroir is virtually the same as Acacias, but the vines are older and enjoy better exposure. The entire vineyard is cultivated according to biodynamic principles. The wine is aged for 22 months in concrete vats. This is an extremely rare cuvée, of which only 3,000 are produced.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Cuvée B763 is the most accomplished Cahors ever produced by Fabien Jouves. This is his ultimate cuvée, which today shows the finest face of the Cahors terroir. The siderolithic soils give the wine unequalled finesse and depth. You need to have drunk this wine once in your life to understand just how unique it is.
Note: the name B763 corresponds to the cadastral code of the parcel in question!
On the nose, the wine is intense and complex. It reveals notes of black pepper, floral hints and sweet spices. A wine of character that deserves a good decanting if you wish to enjoy it in its youth. Ideally, the wine should be drunk 10 years after bottling.
Full-bodied and powerful on the palate, with tight but very juicy tannins. It's immediately obvious that this is a great wine. The balance between elegant substance, acidity and tannins is just masterful. A great wine with great potential, thank you Fabien Jouves.
