Wine Description

Sylvain Pataille 's Marsannay Les Longeroies is one of the wine estate's many parcel-based cuvées. Its particularity lies in the nature of its terroir, composed of white oolite, a very rare form of limestone. This cru borders the Clos du Roy , hence the name "Longeroies".

It is one of the most prestigious parcels in the Marsannay appellation. It's a wine that needs time to mature, as its old vines and special terroir require a minimum of 3 to 4 years' cellaring before it can be fully appreciated.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Marsannay cuvée Les Longeroies is one of the most interesting and surprising produced by Sylvain Pataille. A wine marked by a more powerful, racy character than any of the wine estate's other Marsannay reds. A great terroir wine with very interesting evolutionary potential.

On the nose, the wine reveals animal, sanguine and rustic notes. The first impression is dark and concentrated. There are also hints of gingerbread, clove and black cherry.

The palate is full-bodied and silky-textured. There are hints of spice, leather and black truffles. You wouldn't expect a wine with both great finesse and aromatic rusticity. An extremely interesting wine for gastronomic pairings.
