Wine Description
Thibaud Boudignon 'sAnjou blanc A François(e) has long been one of the wine estate's most emblematic and popular cuvées. Stemming from a very stony volcanic terroir inAnjou noir, its spilite and rhyolite soils give the Chenin a singular relief.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : A François(e) is a great Anjou blanc de lieu, born of a very thorough selection of the purest, freshest juices. Here, Thibaud Boudignon combines juices cut from the purest mineral tension, with a satiny, slender and intensely saline style. Brilliant!
The nose opens with the incisive freshness of fresh citrus, evoking yuzu, Buddha's hand and kalamansi, and the delicacy of white flowers. Aeration brings out the character of Chenin, between beeswax, white-fleshed fruit and delicately spicy herbaceous notes. Traces of gunflint accentuate the purity of the nose, whose complexity seems carved from a jewel, so vivid and precise are the aromas.
The palate mirrors the nose, with a chiseled texture as delicate in its satin-like texture as it is powerful in its vivacity. Intense, sharp tension refocuses the wine on its mineral axis, pulling fruit and citrus flavors toward accents of gunflint and fine spices. The finish continues the straightforwardness of this pure, vertical Chenin.
