Pic Saint Loup with finesse and fruit
Christophe Peyrus began a new adventure with the 2013 vintage in the Pic Saint Loup appellation in the Languedoc region. He produces wines of great finesse on high altitude terroirs in Cazevieille. Christophe Peyrus is well known thanks to his reputation at Clos Marie. With this new wine estate, he takes a 360° turn. He's moving from a classic style to one that's much more gourmand and accessible in its youth. Christophe Peyrus is positioning himself as a challenger and wants to show everyone that it is possible to make digestible, elegant wines in a region where wines are traditionally powerful and concentrated. His guiding principle: elegance, which is just as much a feature of his fabulous Clos Marie cuvées, which take time to reveal their terroir, as it is of the more spontaneous Christophe Peyrus cuvées.
The wine estate covers some 8.5 hectares, producing mainly red wine but also a small amount of white.
