Dominique Cornin

Domaine Dominique Corninis a small, family-run wine estate offering Mâconnais wines in the purest expression of terroir. It was in Chaintré that Dominique and his son Romain built their reputation, making a name for themselves throughout France and beyond. Since Dominique Cornin took over the 10-hectare wine estate in 1993, the precision and clarity of the wines have only improved. Dominique is well aware of the value of his terroirs, which are a heritage that must be preserved. That's why he quickly turned to organic farming and, above all, biodynamic viticulture. At the time, he was still the exception in the Mâconnais region, which was still very "conservative" in terms of traditions that were not traditions at all. These methods enabled him to bring his soils back to life, resulting in wines with more energy and vitality.

In this vast wine-growing region, he owns vines in several climats of the Mâconnais and even some plots in the Beaujolais. Dominique continues his meticulous work in the vineyards. His son Romain, who has a wealth of experience, notably with the great Verget , is responsible for winemaking all the wines of the wine estate.

He has succeeded in giving a luminous stamp to Dominique Cornin's wines, with balance and fruitiness more than ever in evidence. For us, Romain Cornin is already taking his place among the great winemakers of his generation. The cuvées that impressed us most with their balance and harmony are Beaujolais Blanc, Saint Véran, Mâcon-Chaintré Les Serreuxdières, Pouilly Fuissé Clos Reyssié and Pouilly Fuissé Les Chevrières. At each of our wine estate tastings, the wines impress us with their purity and dynamism. It's truly wonderful to see such enthusiasm for producing quality wines with the utmost respect for our beloved land.
