A style of excellence in Chablis

The Jean-Paul and Benoît Droin estate is a very old Chablis wine estate, with vines dating back to 1537. But it was only in 1965 that the wine estate really began to grow and make a name for itself around the world. It was thanks to the arrival of Jean-Paul Droin, who began working in the winery at the age of 14, that the estate's reputation began to grow. In the mid-1980s, Jean-Paul and his wife decided to rebuild the winery in downtown Chablis.

Benoît Droin joined the Burgundy wine estate in 1999 after studying at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune and obtaining a national diploma in oenology in Dijon. He has developed the winemaking and commercial aspects of the wine estate.

Today, the Jean-Paul and Benoît Droin wine estate represents excellence in Chablis. This wine estate produces splendid wines from the most prestigious terroirs, such as Montée de Tonnerre, Vaillons, Mont de Milieu, Grenouilles and Les Clos, renamed Hommage à Louis from the 2020 vintage.

All the other less prestigious cuvées, such as Chablis "Village" and Petit Chablis, are top-flight. The Droin style combines finesse, freshness, elegance and delicacy. The wines are rare and the quantities necessarily limited.
