Beaujolais excellence
Long description
Château Cambon is a nugget nestled in the heart of the Beaujolaisregion . It was founded by two friends, Marcel Lapierre and Jean-Claude Chanudet , in the mid-1990s. Now run by winemakers Marie Lapierre and Jean-Claude Chanudet, it is a benchmark for natural and biodynamicwine .
Viticulture at Château Cambon is deeply respectful of nature. The vines are cultivated biodynamically, an approach that favors respect for the natural cycles of the vine and its environment. The vines are worked by hand, with meticulous attention paid to each bunch.
The grapes are vinified in carbonic maceration, with indigenous yeasts, then aged for 6 to 9 months in barrels for the Brouilly and in 200-year-old tuns for the Beaujolais.
Château Cambon wines are also aged naturally, without the addition of artificial oenological products. The wines mature in oak foudres or concrete vats, allowing the characteristics of terroir and grape variety to express themselves fully.
The Beaujolais Villagescuvée is made from two 50-year-old Gamay parcels and one parcel of very old vines dating back to 1914. In 2016, we added the Brouilly appellation with the purchase of a two-hectare parcel in the Briante area of the Saint-Lager commune.
Château Cambon wines are versatile at the table. They are the perfect accompaniment to traditional Beaujolais dishes such as charcuterie, terrines and roast chicken. They also go well with more elaborate dishes, notably white meats, poultry and cheeses.
Château Cambon is a true Beaujolais treasure, a place where the art of Gamay is celebrated with a deep understanding of terroir and an absolute respect for nature.
