Fronholz Late Harvest Gewurztraminer from the Ostertag wine estate in Epfig is a rare cuvée, produced only in exceptional years. Arthur Ostertag 's aim is to create a wine that balances acidity, residual sugar and complexity. The result is magnificent. The Fronholz parcel delights us with its precision and the finesse of its mouthfeel. The grapes were harvested with the greatest care, grain by grain, then rigorously sorted to preserve the finest grapes. This is the quintessential late harvest from Alsace, one of the finest.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The late harvest wines from the Ostertag wine estate are totally different from other late harvest wines produced in Alsace. What makes them so well-balanced is the care taken in choosing the harvest date, sorting and winemaking. The Ostertag wine estate harvests its wines earlier, so as to have just a little botrytis, while retaining a high natural acidity. For this reason, the late harvest is only carried out in ideal years. It's the weather that decides the fate of this cuvée.

The nose is incredibly complex, even when young: notes of dried flowers, sweet almond, sugar peach and a touch of quince jelly are delicately revealed.

The palate is enveloping, and the delicacy of the material will surprise many. The fruit is of great purity, and the touch of sweetness reveals incredible accuracy. The finish ends with saline touches that add sparkle. A great Alsatian Vendange Tardive of remarkable purity and magnificent balance.
