Albert Mann 's Pinot Gris Grand Cru Hengst Sélection de Grains Nobles is another brilliant illustration of the savoir-faire of this great family of Alsace winemakers. This exceptional wine grows on the marl-limestone-sandstone soils of the Grand Cru Hengst, in Wintzenheim. Although these south-facing slopes are mainly planted with Pinot Noir, the Albert Mann wine estate also cultivates 30-year-old vines of Pinot Gris, which find in this sunny terroir an aromatic concentration and perfect berry ripeness. Sélection de Grains Nobles is made from the finest grapes, concentrated by the action of noble rot. The low proportion of juice in relation to the mass of grapes, and the resulting exceptional aromatic concentration, make this cuvée one of the pinnacles ofAlsace Grand Cru sweet wines.

Guided by its organic and biodynamic approach and its spirit of craftsmanship and precision, the Albert Mann wine estate favors hand harvesting and natural winemaking in stainless steel tanks, to preserve the purity of the fruit and the sincerity of the terroir. Produced in exclusive quantities, each vintage reflects a quest for balance between richness, tension and emotion.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin :Albert Mann 's Pinot Gris Grand Cru Hengst Sélection de Grains Nobles is a wine of pure emotion. It concentrates the particular identity of the Wintzenheim terroir and the delicacy of a greatAlsace Grand Cru liquoreux. Behind the richness of the sugar, an acidic framework holds the wine in masterly balance. This is a wine of patience, a great white of meditation, capable of enduring the decades with nobility. Its exceptional longevity will make it one of the wine estate's emblematic "vins de belle garde". a haute couture wine designed for long ageing and contemplative tasting.

The nose has a vibrantly rich bouquet: aromas of fruit jelly, quince compote and fresh exotic fruit are adorned with a delicate veil of sweet honey. A touch of saffron, white pepper and candied ginger accentuate the complexity of the whole, while a hint of minerality makes its appearance after ample aeration.

On the palate, this Sélections de Grains Nobles rhymes gourmandise and voluptuousness with balance and minerality. The full, unctuous texture, deliciously caressing, envelops the palate in jammy aromas of acacia honey and juicy exotic fruit. Sweetness blends perfectly with acidity, giving this great liquoreux a rare harmony. In the background, the mineral column with its accents of gunflint and long pepper imbues the whole with a masterful finesse and salinity, giving the finish a sparkle typical ofAlsace Grand Cru sweet wines.
