Antoine Lienhardt’s Côte-de-Nuits Villages Aux Vignottes is the most structured and mysterious of the estate’s three Côte-de-Nuits Villages wines, a little-known vineyard that leaves no one indifferent. Produced since the 2015 vintage, this plot is located across from Mugnier’s Clos de la Maréchale—one of the greatest Premiers Crus of Nuits-Saint-Georges—on the other side of the national highway, with deeper clay and less stony soil than its counterparts in Comblanchien.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Antoine Lienhardt’s Côte-de-Nuits Villages Aux Vignottes stands out for its fuller fruit, but also for a structure and minerality that subtly evoke its more noble neighbor to the north. Generous without being excessive, it captivates with its muted minerality and dense fruit, making you forget that this isn’t a Premier Cru.

The nose evokes plum, blackcurrant, and pink pepper, in a profile that is at once full-bodied and delicate, fruity and floral, with that mineral tension characteristic of Comblanchien’s limestone that runs through the wine from start to finish like a common thread.

The wine unfolds with an elegant structure, fine tannins, and a concentrated finish. This wine stands out for its vibrancy, balance, and depth.
