The Morgon Vieilles Vignes cuvée from the Marcel Lapierre wine estate comes from vines planted on granite and schist soils, characteristic of the Morgon climate. These poor, well-drained soils force the vines' roots to dive deep for nutrients, intensifying the concentration and richness of the grapes. The old vines, aged between 60 and 100 years, naturally produce low yields of very high quality, bringing great aromatic intensity and incomparable complexity to the wine.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Winemaking is carried out using natural methods and indigenous yeasts for fermentation. The grapes are hand-picked, carefully selected and vinified as whole bunches. Traditional carbonic maceration is used to gently extract aromas and tannins before ageing in oak barrels for several months, adding subtle nuances and structure to the wine.

On the nose, Cuvée Morgon Vieilles Vignes stands out for its intense aromas of red and black fruits, such as black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, accompanied by floral, spicy and mineral notes.

On the palate, the wine is powerful, structured and harmonious, with a silky texture and a long finish. The minerality typical of the Morgon terroir and the fine tannins add freshness and remarkable depth, offering ageing potential of several decades.
