The Mâcon Villages from the Les Vignes du Maynes wine estate , run by Julien Guillot, is an exceptional first terroir cuvée from the Mâconnais. This white wine, made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, reflects an organic and biodynamic production philosophy that respects nature and tradition.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The grapes come from clay-limestone soils, a key characteristic of the Cruzille terroir. The east-facing aspect favors ideal ripening of the grapes. Winemaking follows a natural approach: slow pressing, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and ageing on lees in oak barrels. For the 2022 vintage, ageing lasted 18 months, bringing exceptional depth and complexity to the wine. No chemical inputs are used, and the wine is neither clarified nor filtered.

On the nose, the wine reveals notes of hazelnut, acacia, white peach, touches of granny apple and a hint of preserved lemon. An explosive, precise nose that only Monsieur Guillot knows the secret of.

On the palate, the strength and frankness are astonishing. One senses a near-perfect mastery of the subject. The wine strikes a masterly balance between the substance, the dynamism brought back by the acidity and the vibrant minerality on the finish.
