Chantal Lescure 's Vosne Romanée Les Suchots is one of François Chavériat's proudest achievements. It's a fantastic parcel, rightly ranked among the most prestigious in Burgundy. The vines are planted on deep brown limestone soil derived from the alluvium of the combe brûlée which dominates this terroir. Yields are low, reaching 30 hl per hectare on the most generous vintages.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Les Suchots is Vosne Romanée's mythical climat , and personally my favorite. I think this wine has everything. Personality, depth, authenticity and complexity. What more could you ask for? Winemaking takes place in small 25 hectoliter truncated-cone tanks. Ageing takes place in barrels, 50-80% of which are new, depending on the vintage.

On the nose, the wine opens with magnificent notes of blueberry, black olives, redcurrant confit, a touch of coffee and cedar. The ageing still makes itself felt a little, but is perfectly mastered.

The palate is full-bodied, with intense substance. The complexity of the nose is repeated on the palate, as is the liveliness that makes this wine radiant. A splendid expression of terroir that deserves its place.
