Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : At Catherine and Claude Maréchal, precision of fruit and traditional winemaking give birth to reds of great precision. On this Savigny lès Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières, the Pinot Noir takes on a deep, racy dimension, more structured than on its communal counterpart, with that rare elegance that distinguishes great terroir wines.

The nose opens with an explosion of ripe Morello cherry and blackcurrant, enhanced by brilliantly intense floral notes of peony and violet. A few hints of spice support the whole and add depth to the bouquet, which will develop its concentration and complexity with a few years' cellaring.

On the palate, the generous body immediately evokes the depth of ripe, full-bodied black fruit, the complexity of noble spices and the mineral imprint of the limestone and gravel terroir. The tannins, still a little firm but already delicious, give the wine a breathtaking energy, where the alliance of power and finesse compose a full, complex and remarkably elegant wine.
