Robert-Denogent’s Mâcon-Villages Les Sardines is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the towns of Verzé and Charnay-lès-Mâcon, on clay-limestone and loamy soils, with vines averaging 35 years of age spread across some thirty plots. The Les Sardines cuvée is the ideal everyday wine from brothers Nicolas and Antoine—affordable yet impeccably crafted.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Robert-Denogent’s Mâcon-Villages Les Sardines is the gateway to the wine estate’s world. Designed to reveal the best of the Mâconnais region to those who may not necessarily be able to afford the top-tier wines, what it reveals far exceeds the expectations one might have of a Mâcon-Villages.

The nose features aromas of white peach, candied citrus, and a subtle iodine-like salinity. Notes of ripe white fruit and lightly toasted pastries gradually emerge with aeration.

The palate, velvety and dense, is characterized by a vibrant freshness and a persistent, intense, mineral structure that is enveloping yet never heavy. The finish, persistent, briny, and elegant, lingers with finesse.
