Wine Description
Some whites impose their personality at first sight, and Clos Marie 's cuvée Manon is one of them. This emblematic Languedoc cuvée takes root on the east-facing limestone slopes of Pic Saint-Loup, where the sea breezes meet the Mediterranean sun. On these hard, luminous soils, Grenache blanc, Carignan blanc, sometimes Vermentino or Malvoisie, flourish under Christophe Peyrus's exacting hand, to give birth to a white wine as vibrant as it is precise, which naturally finds its place on France's finest tables, alongside the estate's other great white cuvée: Les Métairies du Clos.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Manon du Clos Marie cuvée is bewitchingly precise. Christophe Peyrus has concentrated the Languedoc terroir by skilfully blending the tension of Grenache blanc with the roundness of Carignan blanc, while elegantly integrating a hint of Vermentino or Malvoisie, depending on the vintage. This wine combines an intense aromatic profile with chiseled freshness, without ever losing its finesse. It's precisely this marriage of fruity intensity and minerality that makes it a gastronomic benchmark.
On the nose, the wine develops notes of citrus, white flowers and hints of white tea. There's a real depth to the wine on the nose alone. It's a bouquet full of invigorating freshness.
The palate is very coherent and like the nose, the texture is round, this is a wine full of gourmandise with a very airy, chiselled finish.
