Wine Description
L'Olivette du Clos Marie is a cuvée made from vines planted on an ancient olive grove. The vines are cultivated according to biodynamic principles, and the grapes are always harvested by hand. The blend may vary according to the vintage, but it remains predominantly Grenache and Syrah. Winemaker Christophe Peyrus has been at the helm of this wine estate for several years, producing wines of great finesse.
This wine estate is one of the highest quality in the Pic Saint Loup region, and we can't afford to miss out on this benchmark so sought-after by connoisseurs of fine southern wines. This parcel also benefits from a special climate that confers powerful aromas and generosity on the palate.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: L'Olivette du Clos Marie is the first red wine in the wine estate's range. It's also one of the most affordable, both in terms of price and drinkability. Its silky texture and youthful tannins make it a unique wine of great authenticity. The terroir speaks 100% in this fruity cuvée.
The wine's nose is highly expressive, with notes of spices, garrigue, aromatic plants, a touch of black tapenade and a hint of licorice. A wildly complex nose that really makes you want to drink it.
On the palate, the attack is still a little dry, but the wine needs time to open up, the tannins to melt and the elegance to take its place. The wine reveals superb fruit and balance. Black fruit notes mingle with spicier ones.
