Cuvée La Marguerite from the Cosse Maisonneuve wine estate is a micro-parcel of vines planted with a century-old selection massale unearthed in Touraine. The vines are located on a terroir of iron-rich clay, giving the wine precision and minerality. The first vintage of this cuvée was released in 2011 , and it was already a magnificent debut.

Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve have chosen to make this cuvée a wine of exceptional quality. Only 2000 bottles a year are produced worldwide, which is very few.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : La Marguerite from the Cosse Maisonneuve wine estate is a true work of art. A 100% Malbec Cahors that reveals depth, complexity and, above all, mad elegance, which is very rare in this region where the tendency is towards rusticity. This is a great wine for laying down that should not be opened before 2-3 years. The best would be to open it after 15 years, at which point it's a great Cahors wine.

On the nose, notes of licorice, blackcurrant and blueberry are revealed with great finesse. The nose already opens up very well in its youth, but it's clear that this wine can offer a much broader and more complex aromatic palette.

The palate is tender and greedy, the tannins still a little dry but very ripe. The fruit is juicy, developing notes of blackberry, black cherry and fig jam. A wine that's already open in its youth, but far from showing its full potential.

A must-have!
