Wine Description

Domaine De Montille 's Bourgogne Clos du Château comes mainly from a 5-hectare plot in a single block, in front of Château de Puligny. This fully enclosed plot facilitates biodynamic viticulture. The wine has been cultivated, vinified and aged by Etienne De Montille according to biodynamic principles. Although classified as an AOC Bourgogne, this vineyard is remarkably well situated in the village, on the border of the AOC Puligny-Montrachet vineyards. The deep soil, made up of silt and clay, gives the wine its generous character.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This Bourgogne Clos du Château is one of my favorite tastes, as it reveals a character and brilliance similar to Puligny, and a magnificent minerality . This balance gives the wine great drinkability anddepth.

On the nose, the wine expresses itself with great purity on stone fruits, white flowers, some citrus notes and an elegant beeswax aroma.

The palate is full-bodied, greedy and beautifully fresh. The balance lies in the airy finish, with its suave flinty minerality. A superb Burgundy appellation wine on a par with some Puligny-Montrachet.
