Wine Description

Domaine De Montille 's red Burgundy comes from parcels in the Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet appellations . It's a perfect representation of the wine estate's style and the new vision brought to life by Etienne De Montille. For this cuvée, most of the Pinot Noir grapes have been destemmed to retain as much fruit as possible, so that the wine can be enjoyed young.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Etienne De Montille's Bourgogne Pinot Noir cuvée is much more than just a red Burgundy. It's really a wine more akin to a Volnay, as the blend is made up largely of vines from the Les Longbois area, renowned for the quality of its terroir. The ideal wine to discover the style of the wine estate's red wines.

On the nose, the wine opens with lovely aromas of juicy red cherry, blackcurrant and hints of sweet spices. A lovely first olfactory approach that reveals itself with finesse in the purest De Montille style.

On the palate, the attack is full of energy, the tannins silky and the body fine. Floral and fruity notes are typical of the Volnay terroir, with a hint of animality adding personality to the wine.
