Wine Description

Domaine André et Mireille Tissot 'sArbois Trousseau En Amphore is a refined version of the Jura Trousseau , designed to express the purity of fruit and the richness of its terroir. Planted on several parcels of soil rich in Trias red clay- ancient soils that give the grapes a natural freshness and tension - the vines are patiently cultivated by Bénédicte and Stéphane Tissot according to the rigorous principles of biodynamic viticulture. This cuvée tells a story of trust in living matter, and is based on the ancestral method ofageing in amphorae. Carefully harvested by hand, the grapes are placed directly into amphora for a six-month maceration without sulfur or other inputs, a technique revisited by Domaine Tissot to allow the wine to develop in its simplest expression.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: This "En Amphore" version surprises with its clarity and elegance. Trousseau has the noble tension and fluidity characteristic of Jura red wines. Bénédicte and Stéphane Tissot chose the amphora ageing method for its ability to preserve the integrity of the fruit, resulting in a wine with a naked, unadorned style, full of finesse.

On the nose, the cuvée opens with pure aromas of cherry, wild strawberry and sloe. A hint of pepper and clove completes this initial sensation.

On the palate, the silky touch of tannins creates a charming, almost ethereal texture. Morello cherry and sloe aromas return, enhanced by a hint of spice and a touch of licorice. The long, suave finish ends with a vibrant minerality, leaving a thirst-quenching sensation that invites a second sip.
