Domaine Trévallon's Red is born on the slopes of the Alpilles, between Baux-de-Provence and Saint-Rémy. Its unusual blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grows on the very stony clay-limestone soils of Provence, whose excellent drainage allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. The vines are protected from the scorching southern sun by their northerly exposure, while benefiting from the cool nights of the Mediterranean climate. These ideal conditions shape a fresh, concentrated wine, to which Eloi Dürrbach 's organic care, special attention to biodiversity and natural winemaking give a unique touch.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Le Rouge du Domaine de Trévallon is an emblematic Alpilles wine. If it seduces above all for its depth, complexity and elegance, it also leaves its mark for its incredible freshness. A great southern wine, one of a kind!
The nose reveals a concentration of black fruits, garrigue notes, black pepper and licorice. Hints of cocoa, leather and undergrowth add a complexity that will evolve magnificently in the cellar.
The palate confirms this promise, with a suave texture and silky tannins, enlivened by a salivating acidity that perfectly balances the wine. Flavors of stewed black fruit, warm spices and garrigue mingle with empyreumatic notes, all the while retaining a real freshness, right through to the interminably long finish. Great Eloi Dürrbach!
