Améthyste is the great red cuvée of the Ardoisières wine estate. It is composed of 60% Persan and 40% Mondeuse Noire. A racy, deep wine from an exceptional terroir, aged in non-new barrels for 12 months. Production is limited to 3,000 bottles a year. Brice Omont describes it as a "mountain wine", austere at first but wonderfully fruity and airy if you know how to wait. A uniquely coherent Savoy wine with a thousand aromatic nuances.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Améthyste cuvée from the Ardoisières wine estate is a fascinating wine that reveals a dimension beyond what one might expect from a simple Allobroges wine. The finesse of its texture and the complexity of its aromas make it one of Savoie's finest wines.

On the nose, this subtle blend of Persan and Mondeuse Noire develops notes of black tea. But also hints of smoke, spices and black cherries with kirsch. After decanting for 2 hours, elegant notes emerge. With a touch of white pepper, balsamic vinegar and blackcurrant.

The palate is equally open and elegant. The wine is full-bodied, juicy and incredibly concentrated. The tannins are fine and silky, and the acidity of the grapes perfectly ripe. The finish ends on notes of Cuban cigar and a touch of herbaceousness. Grandiose !
