Long description
The Ardoisières wine estate comprises over 13 hectares of vines, including 3 hectares of reds and 10 hectares of whites. The plots are scattered over the Coteaux de Cevins and the Coteaux de Saint Pierre de Soucy.
The Coteaux de Cevins are entirely laid out in steep terraces, some of which slope up to 60%. The soil is both silty and sandy, and in places can also be clayey. The Coteaux de Saint Pierre de Soucy are composed of sedimentary rock, schistose marl and calcareous clay, all on steep slopes.
Brice Omont, the winemaker at the Ardoisières wine estate, cultivates his vines according to biodynamic principles, in order to care for the soil, regenerate it and maintain the landscape while respecting the surrounding nature.
Chemicals are totally banned, and natural products are used in homeopathic doses to preserve the balance of the vines. Brice has also chosen to follow the lunar calendar , which allows the plant to develop at a precise rhythm.
The red grape varieties Persan, Gamay and Mondeuse Noire are therefore meticulously cultivated, as are the white grape varieties Altesse, Roussanne, Mondeuse Blanche, Malvoisie, Chardonnay and Jacquère.
The wines we've decided to offer perfectly reflect the identity of the terroirs of the Allobroges region, and in particular the Coteaux de Cevins and Saint Pierre de Soucy.
L'Argile rouge: a fruity, mineral wine with great depth that won us over immediately. L'Améthyste is without doubt one of Savoie's finest red wines. L'Argile blanc, a cuvée of magnificent precision and the cuvée Quartz, a wine made from the Altesse grape variety worthy of France's greatest white wines.
