Wine Description

Domaine des Ardoisières ' cuvée Erythrite is a vibrant, precise interpretation of Mondeuse Noire, rooted in the alpine landscape of Savoie. On a plot at altitude in Arbin, facing south-east, on clay-limestone soils mixed with red clay and schist, it reflects the taut, mineral spirit ofIGP Vin des Allobroges. Produced from old vines cultivated biodynamically and hand-harvested, this cuvée is the result of a natural, sensitive winemaking process: fermentation with half whole bunches of grapes and indigenous yeasts, 14-month ageing combining amphorae, foudres and barrels, with a low proportion of new wood, and a micro-dose of sulfur at bottling.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Erythrite du Domaine des Ardoisières expresses with finesse the Alpine soul of Mondeuse Noire, with a balance of bright fruit, mineral tension and delicate spices. This Allobroges red effortlessly finds its place among the most demanding terroir wines, with its assertive ageing potential, while remaining pleasant right from the start thanks to its juicy, precise profile.

The nose of this vintage opens with intense, pure black fruits, featuring the ripe flesh of wild blueberries, blackcurrants and morello cherries. A subtle touch of wild pepper and smoke adds an almost Rhodanian relief to the whole. This aromatic signature rises as the wine airs towards an expression that is both delicate and vibrant, evoking the refined profile of a pure Syrah.

The supple, penetrating attack reveals a juicy, taut texture, underpinned by an elegant minerality typical of IGP Vin des Allobroges and the Arbin hillside. Fine, silky tannins frame a fleshy, fruity structure that lingers without heaviness or rusticity, with hints of bacon. The peppery finish underscores the vibrant freshness, energy and refinement of Savoy's finest reds.
