Wine Description

Domaine du Gringet 's Roussette de Savoie Aubeterre cuvée is one of the wine estate's most distinguished signatures, embodying the elegance of Savoy whites. Made from Altesse (Roussette de Savoie) grapes, this cuvée comes from the Aubeterre vineyard, a south-facing hillside of white marl planted in the 1990s by Dominique Belluard in Ayze. The Domaine du Gringet, now run by a team of Vincent Ruiz, Miguel Sarzier, François Balthazar and Raphaël Bennour, pursues organic viticulture influenced by biodynamics (certification expected in 2025). The winemaking process emphasizes precision: gentle pressing for several hours and fermentation with indigenous yeasts, before 9 months' ageing on fine lees in ovoid concrete vats, followed by 10 months' rest in bottle, without prior fining or filtration.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This Roussette de Savoie Aubeterre from Domaine du Gringet is distinguished by its combination of finesse and depth, a true expression of the subtle, intense Savoyard terroir. With its crystalline freshness and marked minerality, it marks a real achievement in the work of Domaine du Gringet, which strives each year for a mastery and purity rare among high-altitude white wines. Enjoy immediately, or let it mature for a few years to reveal its aromatic layers!

The nose opens with a delicate floral palette of white flowers and honeyed nuances. A lovely evolution towards dried fruit and candied apricot aromas gives this Roussette de Savoie a subtly spicy elegance that invites tasting.

The attack is fresh and direct, supported by an ample, textured and vibrant palate. The structure combines finesse, saline tension and an enveloping texture reminiscent of velvety custard. The balance of acidity amplifies the aromatic complexity of the whole, with aromas of candied fruit, wild flowers and roasted almonds and hazelnuts. The finish is marked by noble citrus-peel bitters and a lovely mineral length, typical of the white marls of Aubeterre and Domaine du Gringet 's racy style on this Savoyard terroir.
