Wine Description

Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard Domaine Moreau-Naudet is born on the southern slopes of Chablis, in the heart of Burgundy, where Kimmeridgian limestone gives the wines a singular precision and salinity. Domaine Moreau Naudet grows Chardonnay on a small, steeply sloping, south-facing plot. The vines are worked without weedkillers or chemical fertilizers, the grapes are hand-picked, then slowly pressed before a 24-hour settling period. Fermentation and ageing take place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, using only indigenous yeasts, to preserve the purity and straightforward minerality characteristic of the wine estate's style and the terroir of Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard from Domaine Moreau Naudet aptly expresses the finesse of a southern Chablis climate. The wine's structure is based on balanced maturity and delicate minerality. The characteristic elegance of Domaine Moreau Naudet is evident: a chiselled, straightforward body, carried by persistent salinity and a precise burst of fruit. The whole reflects a perfect coherence between terroir, climate and winemaking style.

The nose opens with notes of white flowers, fresh pear and ripe citrus. Hints of chalk and oyster shell follow, recalling the parcel's limestone bedrock. The whole is airy, yet retains an underlying depth typical of the best Chablis 1er Crus.

The palate is both full and lively, sustained by a constant mineral tension. The texture reveals a fruity sweetness, balanced by a delicious saline acidity. Flavors evoke green apple, citrus pulp and a lingering iodized touch. The finish unfolds a precise, vibrant mineral framework that leaves a long, salivating impression on the palate.
