Franck Balthazar's Vin de France Gringet pays homage to Dominique Belluard, a passionate pioneer and fervent advocate of the Gringet grape variety, a rare Savoy native. Following Dominique Belluard's death in 2021, Franck Balthazar has taken over some of his vineyards, continuing the legacy and vision of his friend and colleague to bring this unique grape variety to light.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Franck Balthazar's cuvée de gringet comes from vines in the Arve Valley in Haute-Savoie. This grape variety possesses the extraordinary finesse and vivacity so precious to Dominique Belluard. Planted on clay-limestone terroirs with a marked Alpine influence, it captures the essence of fresh, mineral soils, producing wines with subtle floral and herbaceous aromas.

On the nose, the wine reveals subtle floral notes of honeysuckle and white flowers, combined with hints of wild herbs and verbena.

On the palate, the liveliness of gringet is expressed by a clean attack, followed by an elegant, almost crystalline texture and flavors of crisp pear, lemon and a hint of flint.
