Domaine Fumey Chatelain 'sVin Jauneis a magnificent collector's wine that we at Mundovin are honored to offer you. On the three parcels of Savagnin used to produce Vin Jaune, yields are kept to a strict minimum, rarely exceeding 30 hectoliters per hectare. Add to this the 6 years of ageing under veil and the angels' share, and you have a nectar produced in very limited numbers.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Domaine Fumey Chatelain's Vin Jaune is a must-have among Jura wines. It's a wine you need to taste at least once in your life to understand just what a top-class winemaker Raphaël Fumey Chatelain is. Nearly 6 years of ageing Savagnin under veil without topping have produced this jewel.

On the nose, the wine opens with intense aromas of walnut and hazelnut, typical of oxidative wines. There are also notes of peat, Cuban cigar, curry, beeswax and a superb hint of candied mandarin.

The palate is just as complex as the nose. The volume on the palate is simply exceptional, as is the energetic framework provided by the acidity. The finish is carried by hints of bitter orange and a dazzling minerality that goes on and on.
