Domaine Fumey Chatelain 's cuvée d'Arbois Le Bastard embodies the pure, elegant expression of the Trousseau grape variety in the Jura. Made from southwest-facing vines, this cuvée illustrates the clay and schist marl soils of the Les Loges and Aux Barbis localities in Montigny-lès-Arsures. In 2020, the arrival of Marin, son of founders Adeline and Raphaël Fumey Chatelain, marked the wine estate's transition to organic viticulture, with certification obtained as of this 2023 vintage.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The "Le Bastard" cuvée from the Fumey Chatelain wine estate is a refined interpretation of Trousseau in the Arbois appellation, offering beautiful aromatic complexity and delicate structure. Careful winemaking preserves the freshness and finesse of the fruit, while revealing the typicality of the Jura terroir.

The nose reveals aromas of black cherry and crushed strawberry, accompanied by floral notes and a refreshing hint of menthol.

On the palate, the wine is sleek and elegant, with good acidity supporting the fruity flavors. The texture is silky, and the lingering finish leaves an impression of freshness and finesse. This Trousseau stands out for its drinkability and balance, making it accessible now while offering interesting ageing potential.
