Wine Description

Gin aux Agrumes from Distillerie du Petit Grain showcases exceptional citrus fruits, sourced directly from the garden of Michelin-starred chef Christophe Comes, in Perpignan. A fine selection of Corsican and Collioure citron, Buddha hand, kumquat, yuzu and caviar lemon make up its rich aromatic profile. Patricia and Laurent Gaspard hand-pick juniper and cade berries from the local garrigue, and add prestigious and rare Our Vintage Champagnes peppers such as Timut, Voatsiperifery and Sichuan, to intensify the complexity. Distilled in copper stills heated over an open fire, this Citrus Gin is obtained exclusively from the heart of the toast, without filtration. This artisanal method preserves the purity and finesse of the highly sought-after aromas.

From the outset, the gin reveals a fresh, Mediterranean palette, dominated by citrus juice and a discreet hint of coriander. The blend of peppercorns adds a slightly spicy touch to the whole, and enhances the sappy aromas of juniper and myrtle leaf.

On the palate, the attack is lively, dominated by the suave freshness of citrus fruits, supported by the characteristic resinous hint of juniper. The texture is full-bodied, slightly oily, and wonderfully serves the aromatic complexity of the beverage. Peppery spices emerge in retro-olfaction, while an elegant bitterness of citrus peel and a salivating finish prolong the tasting experience.
