Wine Description

Gin Caviar from Distillerie du Petit Grain embodies the aromatic richness and finesse of citrus fruits from the garden of Michelin-starred chef Christophe Comes. Drawing an obvious parallel between the shape and consistency of sturgeon caviar and lemon caviar, a citrus fruit native to Australia, Patricia and Laurent Gaspard have imagined a bottle in which citrus beads swim, reinforcing the aroma and adding a salivating acidity to this singular and profoundly Mediterranean gin. Its unfiltered, toasted distillation gives it remarkable purity and a unique profile.

On the nose, this gin reveals an intense citrus freshness with zests of yuzu, citron and lime, underlined by lightly smoky notes and juniper resin. Accents of coriander and Timut pepper add a pleasantly spicy character.

On the palate, the lemon caviar pearls gently explode, releasing a crystalline, saline acidity that contrasts with the richness of the juniper. There are spicy notes of long pepper, the light bitterness of citrus, and the bewitching persistence of resinous aromas. The whole is vibrant, clean, with an excellent balance between freshness and depth.
