Magnum Ribolla 2011 Gravner | Friuli

The Ribollacuvée from the Josko Gravner wine estate is Friuli's most authentic wine, made from the native Ribolla Gialla grape variety . Josko's vines are over 80 years old and are located on the finest terroir in the Venezia Giulia appellation. Winemaking is carried out in amphoras and ageing in large tuns, with the entire winemaking and ageing process lasting 9 years. As a result, the wines on sale today are ready to be enjoyed.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Josko Gravner's Ribolla cuvée is a very rare, highly complex cuvée produced in a limited edition of 6,000. The pellicular maceration and long ageing in amphora give it incredible freshness and power. For me, this is the finest Italian white wine in the natural style, and the great thing is that you don't have to wait to taste it. It should be served at 14-15°C, no cooler, as this is also its particularity.

On the nose, the wine has great aromatic power, revealing seductive aromas of honey and grapefruit. There are also hints of pink pepper, undergrowth and a touch of bitter orange.

The palate is tonic and slender. The fullness of the material gradually reveals itself on the palate. The palate is generous and powerful, while retaining great freshness. Minerality and noble bitters round off this singular, bewitching score.
