Wine Description

The Chablis Mont de Milieu from the Jean Paul and Benoit Droin wine estate comes from vines planted on a soil composed of limestone clay and limestone pebbles. These south-facing vines produce wines that are open in the early years and more opulent in appearance. This is unquestionably the sunniest climate in the entire Chablis appellation, producing wines of magnificent aromatic richness.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Chablis Mont de Milieu from the Jean Paul and Benoit Droin wine estate is very charming, as it is indeed the sunniest Chablis in the appellation. It sits atop a hill on the right bank. Production is limited to 6,000 bottles a year, making it even rarer than the cuvée Montée de Tonnerre.

On the nose, the wine impresses with its flattering bouquet of white peach, honey and orange blossom. An aromatic expression full of greediness that clearly makes you want to go on tasting.

On the palate, the wine stands out for its silky, caressing mouthfeel. The acidity is perfectly controlled, providing the touch of freshness needed to maintain the wine's balance. This is a wine that can be drunk young, or left to age for 5 to 10 years to allow the minerality of the terroir to reveal itself.
