Wine Description

Le Chemin des Loups from La Ferme des 9 Chemins is an ode to the rare terroirs of Reichsfeld, Alsace. This cuvée blends three emblematic grape varieties, Riesling, Sylvaner and Pinot Auxerrois, planted on Permian and Vosges sandstone soils, and farmed organically using biodynamic practices. Riesling brings a lively, mineral acidity, while Sylvaner lends floral notes and a silky texture. Pinot Auxerrois, from younger but already vigorous plots, contrasts with its roundness and white fruit aromas. After a whole-bunch harvest by hand, fermentation took place on fine lees with the grapes' indigenous yeasts, followed by eleven months in old barrels.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Le Chemin des Loups is a fine demonstration of the talent of the young Jeanne Gaston-Breton. It's a wine of character, revealing its exceptional sandstone terroir. This cuvée reveals the typicity of Alsace grape varieties in a single bottle: the elegance of Riesling, the softness of Sylvaner and the greediness of Pinot Auxerrois. The result is a cuvée that's harmonious from its earliest years, and that will develop a refined expression after a few years.

On the nose, notes of fresh citrus, dominated by lemon and pink grapefruit, underline the refreshing presence of Riesling. A delicate veil of white flowers and subtle minerality add depth and complexity.

On the palate, the wine seduces with its harmony of vivacity and silky texture. Chiseled acidity unfolds over a silky texture marked by aromas of citrus fruit, green apple and white peach. The remarkably fresh finish vibrates with luminous minerality and a particularly sapid persistence, a searing reminder of the character of Alsace's sandstone terroirs.
