Wine Description

Domaine Huet's dry Vouvray Le Mont is an exceptional wine. It's certainly the most breathtaking Vouvray to be found in the Vouvray appellation. The "Le Mont" parcel is an exceptional terroir for a number of reasons, not least the nature of the soil on which it is planted. In fact, the green clay mixed with different layers of flint enable the heat obtained during the day to be stored and released again at night. The result is perfectly ripe grapes, whatever the vintage.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Vouvray Le Mont cuvée displays great finesse and superb aromatic power, even when young. It's thanks to the parcel's very old vines that the wine blossoms so quickly. After harvesting and sorting, the wine is aged for a further 6 months to give it a patina and extra strength to last even longer. It's hard to say exactly how much ageing potential this wine has - some say 30 years, others 40. In any case, the potential is immense.

The nose is formidable from the moment you open it, releasing aromas of white flowers, orange, lemon and greengage. A formidable olfactory complexity that will delight even the greatest lovers of Loire wines.

Gourmet on the palate, with notes of mirabelle plum, pineapple and grapefruit. The texture is fine, subtle and the acidity just right. It provides just the right amount of tone to this wine.
