The Mercurey 1st Sazenay cru from the Jacqueson estate is one of the recently acquired parcels of land Paul and Mary. It was in 2011 that they had the chance to take over this magnificent plot located in the heart of the appellation. This is a climate that benefits fromone of the best exhibitions and rests on a perfect slope for the ripening of the grapes.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Mercurey 1st Cru Sazenay comes from a unique plot that draws its resources from a soil dominant limestone argilo and receives the right amount of water needed for its growth thanks to a tilt that makes it possible to make the water leak that could stagnate.

The nose reveals notes of roses, cherries, goji berries but also beautiful sweet spices like nutmeg, cardamom or tonka beans.

The mouth is great finesse in a style elegant like the wines of the Côte de Nuits. What really characterizes the Sazenay terroir is the balance between matter, fruit and complexity. Very interesting: the peppery touch very subtly delivered at the end of the mouth.
