Champagne R.Pouillon rosé is exciting, that's the first word that comes to mind to describe this Champagne. It is made by macerating the skins of the Pinot Noir grapes in contact with their juice over a short period of time. It is dosed at the strict minimum for a brut (7 grams of sugar per liter) to combine freshness and roundness at the same time. It's a real treat, and we have no hesitation in describing it as a rosé champagne offering the best value for money.

Philippe Mischler sommelier at Mundovin: R.Pouillon's Champagne Rosé displays superb balance, as does its reasonable price for a Champagne Rosé de Macération, which led us to select it. We're at the opposite end of the spectrum from rosé champagnes made from blends of red and white wines. Here, on the palate, you literally have the impression of biting into beautiful red fruit.

On the nose, the champagne reveals magnificent notes of tangy red fruit, touches of rose petal and a fine mineral imprint typical of the Mareuil sur Ay soil.

On the palate, the bubbles are very fine, and the rosé is vinous with magnificent aromatic concentration. The acidity is perfectly balanced, and the subtly floral touches add elegance and length.
