Wine Description

Marsannay Blanc from the Sylvain Pataille wine estate is an emblematic cuvée of white and pink Chardonnay from limestone terroirs. The expression of this terroir is enhanced by 18 months' ageing in barrels on fine lees. Only 15% of the barrels are new, so the wine is not marked by woody aromas.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Sylvain Pataille's Marsannay Blanc is without doubt the best Burgundy wine on the market today! It's a wine that meets all the criteria of a great wine, making Sylvain Pataille the undisputed master of Marsannay.

The nose is highly complex. Hints of flower honey, resin and chalk. The charm continues with hints of sugar pear and vineyard peach.

On the palate, the wine reveals a fleshy texture typical of Chardonnay on this terroir. The flattering, bewitching character of the nose is repeated. Minerality develops in the mid-palate, giving the wine a saline freshness right through to the finish.
