Long description

The Les Creisses wine estate is located in the Languedoc wine-growing region, more precisely in Valros near Pézenas. The wine estate boasts 15 hectares of vines planted in garrigues, woods and even truffle oaks. The estate was born of the collaboration between Philippe Chesnelong and his cousin Louis Mitjavile, two winemaking geniuses. Louis Mitjavile is one of Bordeaux's most famous winemakers, producing wines for the Aurage estate as well as lesser-known estates such as Château Martet.

In 1998, Philippe Chesnelong took over the reins of this family-run wine estate, which has been producing wine since 1904. His sole aim is to produce the finest possible wine from his magnificent terroirs. He has chosen to produce only two cuvées: Les Creisses and Les Brunes. These are two wines of rare complexity and intensity, certainly the best value of any Languedoc winegrower.

The terroir of Les Creisses is composed of gravel and stony calcareous clay, where Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault are planted. All these grape varieties are used to make Philippe Chesnelong's flagship cuvée.

The cuvée Les Brunes is located on a darker terroir, notably on an ancient lava flow, a basaltic soil where Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon vines mingle with Mourvèdre and Syrah.

An iconic wine estate not to be missed, its wines are highly sought-after and appreciated by connoisseurs of fine wines.
