Long description

La Grange de l'Oncle Charles is a wine estate created by Jérôme François in 2014. Jérôme started with a tiny plot of 0.5 hectares. Today he owns over 6 hectares of vines (phew, we can have a bit more wine, though...!!!!). Why this wine estate name? Quite simply because he set up in the barn of his uncle Charles in Ostheim. From the outset, Jérôme François opted for healthy viticulture that respects his terroir. He works all his vines organically and according to biodynamic principles. His horse does all the work on the soil, and the rest is done by hand. His values and knowledge have quickly earned him a place in the select circle of Alsatian winemakers who know how to give their wines a real identity through hard work in the vineyard.

The wines of the Domaine de la Grange de l'Oncle Charles are a little atypical in that they are all produced by complantation. This is totally different from traditional Alsatian viticulture. One of the few in Alsace to do this is the Marcel Deiss wine estate in Bergheim.

These are truly gourmet wines, which now have a place in the world's finest restaurants.

Mundovin fell in love with the cuvées Mille Lieux, formerly Alsace (a blend of 13 grape varieties), le village des amoureux, formerly Ammerschwihr (a blend of Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Muscat), le chemin d'à côté, formerly Sittweg (blend of Riesling and Pinot Gris), La Montagne du scarabée, formerly Kaefferkopf (blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat and Gewurztraminer) and the incredible cuvée Le Mont des clochettes, formerly Rodern (blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris).

Please note that all wines from the Grange de l'Oncle Charles wine estate are available in very limited quantities.
