The Jean-Claude Buecher wine estate was created in 1979 by Jean Claude and his wife Sylviane. They set about building a winery to produce Crémant d'Alsace. They are the only winemakers in Alsace to produce nothing but crémant.
Their project is simple: to produce the best crémants possible. Their recipe for success: a subtle blend of grape varieties from very different terroirs, and meticulous work in the champagne-making stage.
The time spent on laths is pushed to the limit to ensure that the wines are expressive and have very fine bubbles. For example, the cuvée Insomnia spent over 10 years in the cellar.
In 2005, their son Franck Buecher decided to join the family circle. The young winemaker added a further dimension to his crémants by converting the wine estate to organic farming.
Today, their experience and know-how make them Alsace's most respected winemakers of crémants.
The Reflets, Murmure and Insomnia cuvées are real nuggets that absolutely must be discovered. These Alsace crémants are simply extraordinary, with their fine, crystal-clear tannins and real personality.
