The Ardoisières wine estate comprises more than 13 hectares of vineyards, including 3 hectares of red grape varieties and 10 hectares of white grape varieties, used to produce distinctive Savoie wines. The plots are scattered across the Coteaux de Cevins and the Coteaux de Saint Pierre de Soucy.

The Coteaux de Cevins consist entirely of very steep terraces, some of which have a slope of up to 60 percent; the soil is both loamy and sandy, and in some places it can also be clayey. The Coteaux de Saint Pierre de Soucy, meanwhile, consist of sedimentary rock, schistose marl, and calcareous clay, all situated on steep slopes.

Brice Omont, the winemaker at Domaine des Ardoisières, cultivates his vines according to biodynamic principles to nurture the soil, regenerate it, and maintain the landscape while respecting the natural environment around him.

Chemicals are therefore completely banned in favor of natural products, which are applied in homeopathic doses to preserve the vineyard’s balance. Brice has also chosen to follow the lunar calendar, which allows the vines to develop at a precise pace.

The red grape varieties— Persan, Gamay, and Mondeuse Noire —are thus the subject of meticulous care, as are the white varieties: Altesse, Roussanne, Mondeuse Blanche, Malvoisie, Chardonnay, and Jacquère.

The wines we’ve selected to offer you perfectly reflect the identity of the Allobroges terroirs, particularly those of the Coteaux de Cevins and Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy.

L’Argile Rouge: a fruity, mineral-driven wine with great depth that immediately won us over. L’Améthyste, which is undoubtedly one of the best red wines from Savoie. L’Argile Blanc, a cuvée of magnificent balance, and the Quartz cuvée, a wine made from the Altesse grape variety worthy of France’s greatest white wines.
