The Pique Basse wine estate is located in the Côtes du Rhône Villages Roaix appellation, which is the smallest municipal appellation in the region.
Originally, the grandparentsof Olivier Tropet, the current winemaker, grew fruit trees. Olivier Tropet, a wine enthusiast, quickly became an oenologist and moved to the family wine estate at age 25 to craft his exceptional Rhône wines for us. His goal is to produce terroir-driven wines with the utmost respect for the land. He knows his land well, having grown up with his grandparents and come to understand the environment over the years. The wine estate covers approximately 10 hectares, located primarily within the Côtes du Rhône Villages Roaix appellation but also in Rasteau.
Olivier Tropet has been managing his vineyards since 2009, producing wines using organic farming methods. He loves and respects his land, which is why he cultivates his vines without any herbicides or chemical fertilizers.
