Wine Description

Adrien Renoir's "Les Vignes Goisses 2020" cuvée is a rare and fascinating expression of the Montagne de Reims. This 100% Pinot Meunier champagne, from the "Les Vignes Goisses" parcel in Verzy, highlights the full potential and elegance of a grape variety often overlooked in this region planted mainly with Pinot Noir.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The "Les Vignes Goisses" parcel is nestled in chalky soil, giving the grapes remarkable purity and tension. The 2020 vintage, marked by a warm season and exceptionally ripe grapes, has produced a precise champagne with impressive natural balance. The "Meunier" grapes from this parcel express remarkable freshness and finesse, accentuated by oak winemaking.

On the nose, a seductive aromatic symphony blends greedy notes of yellow fruit, such as mirabelle plum and white peach, with a touch of stewed apple. This is followed by fresher citrus nuances, reminiscent of pink grapefruit and tangerine, accompanied by subtle floral accents and a discreet yet assertive chalky minerality.

On the palate, the attack is lively, marked by a saline tension that perfectly reflects the character of Verzy's chalky soils. The texture is silky, almost velvety, and develops with a beautiful harmony between freshness and deliciousness. Ripe fruit aromas unfold, supported by a touch of toasted hazelnut and a long, pure, vibrant finish.
