The Adrien Renoir wine estate, nestled in the heart of the Grand Cru de Verzy in the Montagne de Reims, embodies boldness and innovation in Champagne. Since returning to the family wine estate in 2015, Adrien Renoir has transformed this heritage with a modern, visionary approach. He is part of this new generation of winemakers who favor respectful, minimalist viticulture to best express the essence of their terroir. Convinced that Champagne could reach new heights of expression, Adrien embarked on a bold transition by eliminating herbicides and converting the entire wine estate toorganic farming, an ambitious project crowned with success and certification in 2016.
Adrien Renoir's vision extends beyond the vineyard: in the cellar, he has taken the landmark decision to vinify all his champagnes in wood, a choice still rare in Champagne. This technique allows his wines to develop a more complex structure, while keeping intervention to a minimum to let spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeasts guide the development of each cuvée. His choice of winemaking is inspired by respect for each locality and grape variety, resulting in cuvées that reveal the subtle nuances of each plot.
Adrien Renoir's champagnes are distinguished by their tension and purity, with a striking minerality that reflects Verzy's limestone and marl terroir. The "Le Terroir" cuvée, for example, combines 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay in perfect harmony. It reveals liveliness and remarkable depth, combining richness and freshness. Another illustration of our parcel-based approach, the "Vignes Goisses" cuvée showcases Pinot Meunier grown exclusively on the eponymous plot in Verzy. This fresh, fruity champagne captures stone fruit aromas and herbaceous freshness, a tribute to the elegance of Champagne.
