Domaine Alain Voge 's Saint-Péray Fleur de Crussol is certainly one of the finest in its appellation. Born on one of the oldest parcels of the wine estate, located in La Côte, in the cradle of the appellation, it perfectly captures the character and purity of its granite terroir with limestone colluviums. The Marsanne vines are over 80 years old, organically grown and carefully balanced. After hand harvesting, fermentation is carried out by indigenous yeasts before 17 months' ageing on fine lees in barrels, 20% of which are new wood.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This Fleur de Crussol is without doubt a great Saint Péray. The generosity of the Marsanne combines with the mineral freshness of the granite hillside to create a rare balance and generosity. A wine of great precision!
On the nose, notes of white peach, roasted pineapple with honey flower, curry and toasted sesame. After a few minutes, the wine develops fresh lemony and mineral notes.
The palate is as silky as it is fleshy, with an aromatic density that really explodes on the palate. Notes of ripe orchard fruit, tangerine, flower honey and fine spices are balanced by the persistent minerality of the terroir, which lingers long on the finish. Fabulous!
