La Ferme des 9 Chemins ' Riesling "La Montagne de Schiste" is an extraordinary cuvée, born at the top of the Reichsfeld terraces, in the heart ofAlsace. Stemming from a single plot planted on blue schist, this exclusive edition, produced in just 400 units, testifies to the exacting standards of Jeanne Gaston-Breton, who is gradually expanding her winery to preserve the artisanal quality of her wines. Since 2018, her viticulture has been certified organic, with biodynamic practice committed from 2019, to enhance the terroir's biodiversity and the vitality of its soils. The hand harvest is carried out at optimum ripeness, with very low yields. The grapes are then vinified without inputs and aged for ten months on fine lees in old barrels and stainless steel vats, to reveal the crystal-clear, taut expression of this exceptional Riesling.

On the nose, this Riesling opens with a deep bouquet dominated by notes of roasted hazelnut and blond tobacco, supported by hints of nutmeg. Herbaceous accents reminiscent of sugarcane precede a slightly smoky mineral framework, the signature of the schist terroir.

On the palate, the attack is brilliant. The wine unfurls a fine, taut body, marked by flavors of yellow lemon and vine flower, punctuated by a subtle toasty note from ageing. A vibrant salinity structures the whole and evokes the deep minerality of the subsoil. The remarkably long finish blends freshness and liveliness, inviting you to take another sip.
