Wine Description
Francesco Cirelli made two different cuvées of Montepulciano. This cuvée Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Amphora is vinified and raised in amphora for a period of approximately 12 months. The production of this wine is extremely limited because only 3000 bottles are produced each year
Marc Walter, passionate caviste : It can be considered as the less fervoury version of the grape variety Montepulciano des Abruzzo, even if personally, I greatly appreciate both. Francesco Cirelli is still looking for the purity, the transparency with the land and this whatever the cuvée. In this cuvée, the tannins are less pronounced, the texture is more silky. The winemaker sought to give a more noble expression to matter without transforming the personality of wine. Here, everything is in the art of sublimating the noble basic product.
The wine is of a master balance fruit is intense. There is finesse, aromas of red fruit walls, wine is persistent, the very interesting texture of its silky and its race. The texture gives the wine all its personality, character and identity Montepulciano des Abruzzo. When you look for an ideal of taste and texture in a dish and it surprises you and marks you, you go from pleasure to emotion. All this to say that Cirelli he's got an interpretation of the Montepulciano that seduced me.
This wine can be enjoyed with raised dishes as well as charcuterie, meat or cheese. I see him as a wonderful companion as well improvised meal as one beef rib a summer sunday. The style is very fluid with lots of finesse, depth and freshness. Wine is no more than 13 degrees alcohol. A discovery that can be described as safe value with an interesting price-pleasure ratio.
