Wine Description

The Blaufränkisch Kalkstein from the Claus Preisinger wine estate is made from Blaufränkisch grapes grown on stony limestone soil, hence the name Kalstein. The grapes are macerated for 18 days in stainless steel tanks to extract plenty of fruit and fine tannins. The wine was then aged for 12 months in previously used oak barrels to soften the sometimes slightly dry tannins. Claus Preisinger has chosen to produce a delicately fruity wine with slightly acidic flavors and intense structure. For him, these are the main characteristics of this grape variety that must be respected.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Blaufränkisch Kalkstein is a gourmet marvel. It's both supple and fresh , and should be served at around 16°C to bring outall its deliciousness .

The nose reveals notes of redcurrant, white pepper and blackberry. There are also pretty notes of cherries and kirsch, fresh and delicious at the same time. Magnificent first impression.

On the palate, the wine is fine and fresh, with very little tannin to ensure maximum drinkability. Notes of tangy fruit add freshness. A hint of smoke sublimates this superb Blaufränkisch Kalkstein, thanks to Claus Preisinger.
